How to read the Environment

You don't need to understand everything at the same time. Choose how deep you want to go.

What are you seeing?

Here you see where the plant lives: indoors, greenhouse or outdoors, along with its roots, its watering and its light.

Why it matters

The plant does not function separately from its environment — all of this affects it together, not separately.

How to think about it

Start with the big ideas: first the type of general environment, and then go into the detail of irrigation and light.

Very simple example

A plant with drooping leaves may need a different reading if it is very hot than if the substrate is saturated with water.

Look at this first:
  • Environment
  • root zone
  • Irrigation
  • light source

Interpreted environment, not just described

The environment defines which variables make sense, which change their weight, and which tools would be necessary in a real file.
